CHILDHOOD

Early childhood
Bumps and falls that take place when a child is learning to walk, even seemingly harmless ones, can cause a number of problems :
- sleeplessness;
- ear, nose and throat infections;
- hyper activity, restlessness, tantrums;
- poor digestion, constipation;
- curvature of the spine;
- poor alignment of the feet or knees.

School
Restlessness, daydreaming, a lack of concentration and dyslexia are some common symptoms in children that can be treated with hands-on therapies.
Treatment will enable them to be more relaxed, improve their attention span and improve their participation in class. Children are particularly receptive and sensitive to the benefits of Osteopathy. School related problems will be more easily resolved if treatment is initiated early on.

The spinal column
Postural problems in childhood such as scoliosis, lordosis and kyphosis are signs that the body has not adjusted properly. This can be due to internal or cranial causes or to an injury. This will be diagnosed during palpation by the Osteopath.
The proper corrective treatment will improve postural related problems.

Orthodontics
Today, more and more children require corrective braces. Many orthodontists work with Osteopath to improve both the comfort of the child and the results of the treatment.
These corrective devices use the cranial structure as a lever for the jaw and teeth. The resulting pressure can be responsible for a number of discomforts:
- head aches and back pain
- dizziness
- poor vision
- an inability to concentrate
- moodiness
Regular visits to the Osteopath during treatment are necessary to alleviate these symptoms and to control the effects on the head and the body.
